Walking Free
EXHIBITION

Reclaiming Voice, Purpose, and a Sense of Self

For survivors of high-control environments and the people who care for them.

A collaborative exhibition by

Walking Free brings together lived testimony, photography, and AI-generated imagery to illuminate the courage, pain, and transformation of three people who survived high-control systems.

Understanding the Context

Cults take many forms. Some are religious, some are relational, and some are ideological. What holds them together is a pattern of control.

Leaving these systems requires remarkable strength. Survivors often carry questions that run deep:

Who am I now? What do I believe? What was true, and what wasn’t?

This exhibition recognizes those questions and honors the people who have dared to confront systems that shaped them, confined them, and eventually could not contain them.

With that wider context in mind, we turn toward the individuals whose stories shape this exhibition.
